Extended 'Clone Wars' Season 3 Trailer from Comic Con Released

The Clone Wars has its fair share of detractors, but it definitely has a lot of devoted followers as well. With Star Wars Celebration V just days away, Lucasfilm has now released the full season 3 preview that premiered at San Diego Comic Con, using the upcoming convention's Star Wars hype, perhaps, to aid in getting us psyched for the new season.

Live-action Star Wars Series Hits a Rut, but Could That Make the Show Better?

Ever wonder what's up with that live-action Star Wars TV series that's been talked about for so long? We heard some good news about it almost one full year ago, when Lucasfilm's Steve Sansweet confirmed not only that the live-action show is going to be made but that pre-production would be beginning before 2010 and that the series will premiere in 2012. After that announcement, silence. Now George Lucas himself has broken that silence, and the news is not good ... or is it?

'Venture Bros.' Season 4.2 Trailer Emphasizes Action, S.P.H.I.N.X., and 21

Man I'll be happy when The Venture Bros. comes back. The wait has been a hard one, punctuated with but a handful of teasers, first in the form of stills on Jackson Publick's blog, then with a brief trailer at the Adult Swim panel at Comic Con.

'Terra Nova' Gets Pushed to Fall 2011, but We'll Wait

Any fans of Steven Spielberg, of dinosaurs, and/or of Steven Spielberg works involving dinosaurs were disappointed when it was announced that Fox was canceling their San Diego Comic Con panel for Terra Nova, the upcoming Spielberg-produced TV series based on people traveling back in time to the dinosaur age. Now those same potential fans will be again disappointed to learn that Fox is pushing back the show's launch a few months, from spring of 2011 to fall 2011.

'Caprica' Season 1.2 Trailer Looks Better Than the First Half

Caprica is a show I'm still trying to come to terms with. It is a smart show, almost without argument, but I've so far found it difficult to connect with the characters. At the Caprica Comic Con panel, though, Ronald Moore, David Eick and a few of the actors did give us reason to believe that it may be about to improve. They also showed us a trailer that represents what should be an intense second half of the season. Now that trailer has been released for everyone.

New 'Battlestar Galactica' Spinoff Series, 'Blood & Chrome,' to Bring Back Cylon/Human Conflict

Battlestar Galactica is one of the greatest science fiction shows of all time. Since it also takes place in such a vast world, it makes sense that the studio would want to make spin-off series based on the show. They are currently doing that with Caprica, but that series is vastly different from BSG and has experienced uneven quality. What fans seem to want is another series that engages you both intellectually and emotionally (only the former half of which Caprica seems to have accomplished) and that is more military-oriented, like BSG. We heard a few months ago that Syfy was considering the possibility of another spin-off. Now it looks like we'll be getting that.

It's a Trap, but We'll Walk into It: 'Family Guy' 'Return of the Jedi' Parody Hits in December

Seth MacFarlane hasn't failed us yet with his Family Guy Star Wars parodies, and the upcoming riff on Return of the Jedi doesn't look like it will disappoint, either. The Official Star Wars Blog has just announced that Family Guy's third and final take on the Star Wars films, entitled Family Guy: It's a Trap will be released on DVD and Blu-ray December 21. That's good news enough, but some of the details are even better.

'Venture Bros.' Hilarity Abounded at Adult Swim Comic Con Panel, Plus: A Crossover With 'Robot Chicken'?

Jackson Publick and Doc Hammer didn’t have the stage to themselves during the Adult Swim panel at Comic Con (though they did have a purely Venture Bros. slot the next day, which I wasn't able to attend), so they had to make it short and sweet. They divulged a few general strokes for the delayed remainder of The Venture Bros.’ fourth season, teased us with some footage, and chimed in from the side during other panelists’ presentations. That, plus talk of a potential crossover with Robot Chicken, all looked and sounded great, and the writers seem to be responding to what the fans liked and disliked in the first half of season 4 and the end of season 3.

The Things 'Caprica' May Hold in Store, as Foretold at Comic Con

There were a lot of themes opened in the first half of season 1 of Caprica, and it’s difficult to see where they are going to go, even though we already know where the plot is ultimately headed. The Caprica panel at Comic Con gave some (spoiler-free) hints at what the writers plan on doing with these ideas. One of the most assuring aspects of the event was the relaxed feel of it all.

Season 2 of 'Stargate Universe' Discussed and Partly Spoiled at Comic Con

Stargate Universe has not hit screens without controversy. Some fans dislike the difference in tone and style from the other Stargate series. Others (like me) have criticized it for too often boiling a rich premise down to conflicts from which the characters are safely pulled without any real development. And yet a third substantial group consists of fully devoted fans.
