The Sci-Fi Block is the creation of Robert Ring. In early 2007, Robert set out to create a science-fiction film review site of keen and honest insight into genre films old and new as well as to create a discourse among science fiction fans. He began writing reviews, and by July 2008 he had enough to constitute the beginnings of a reputable website.

Something you might notice about this site is that we remain fairly strict on our sci-fi focus. Though some of our reviews cover films that may be considered borderline, such as King Kong, we do not cover genres such as fantasy (The Lord of the Rings, etc.) or the supernatural (Ghostbusters), unless there is some element of science involved. We believe that in order to stay successful and insightful, it is important to keep a tight focus.

We hope that The Sci-Fi Block will serve as both a dynamic place to discuss science fiction and an informative database for those wishing to learn more about the genre.
